Foundations of Success
Creating the foundation and understanding the core or what makes your business unique is the only way to bring success. Like any structure the foundation of your company is its core values, until these are known and practiced in your company’s daily life higher development will not succeed.
Defining your purpose is crucial to business development, without understanding what you do and why, your company will not grow because you will not know where to do the growing.
As the pyramid grows upwards it is vital to understand your targets, what you expect to see and where you expect to be going. This builds on all of the previous stages and cannot be fully completed until your cores and purpose are clearly established.
Similar to Targets are your business’s goals. Is it money, is it to satisfy a quota, these goals will help propel your business forward beyond what it already is. Almost in a way pulling it towards the clear outcomes you have laid out.
Actions speak louder than words has been the adage for years. The same is true for business, without taking action on a plan how could it ever take effect. It may be more comfortable to continue with the same actions you’re used to taking however they will only lead to the same results. Some might argue that the risk of failure appears but even in failure success can blossom. Learning from failed attempts can grow a stronger plan and lead to greater success. Take action.
Schedule, Know when you want things accomplished or how far along at a given point in time certain elements of your plan should be. Include time frames in your plan and be aware that there may be areas that will take more time than planned for.
Accountability. The key to any plan is having all of the components clearly laid out and in built on each other. Doing them out of order or skipping levels leaves holes for failure. The final level is accountability, insuring that the schedule is followed, actions are taken, targets are met and evaluated, the business purpose and core values are adhered to, and that information is collected to review.
